Mobile is all the rage these days. Some studies project that by the end of next year, half of all handsets in America will be smart phones. European countries are not far behind, and developing countries are on track to skip the PC entirely. Google has been making a lot of noise about this trend, and it seems they are determined to meet this seemingly inevitable future in ways that will greatly benefit their business.
So shouldn't you be doing the same thing?
Among my friends, it almost seems worthless to have a blog anymore if it can't be accessed conveniently on a mobile device. And it's easy to see why:
Navigating microscopic text on the full site is a pain compared with the fresh look of the mobile version.
Given the fact that most of the world's population will likely never see a website displayed on more than a tiny screen, it would be prudent to optimize for mobile. And why not localize at the same time? In honor of these trends, and in anticipation of a new generation of international mobile sites, I've optimized this blog for mobile viewing. And the best part of all? The mobile version is available in six languages!
