There are a lot of people in the world.
And there are lots of relationships between all of them.
Life’s complicated like that.
Do you really think God knows each of them?
Could He really know each of them, much less their needs and desires?
Does He really understand how hard it is and how lonely it can get?
How could He help them all along the way when they are so many and so different?
Well, He has a lot of resources.
Today, I witnessed the level of watchful care and attention God truly maintains in each human life. I saw a friendship, prepared and cultivated over the years, achieve a portion of God’s purpose. I know that He knows us. He knows where we’ve been, where we are, and where we’re going. He knows that each person is a vast trove of knowledge and experience. Unique. Individual. Priceless. He knows which people are equipped to help each other. He puts them together. He knows we need Him and His Son desperately. He knows we need each other. And at certain, sacred times, He lets us help each other. He allows us the privilege of catching a glimpse of another’s infinite potential and divine character. No possession, no treasure, no experience, no achievement can compare to the sublime beauty of viewing the eternal character of a brother.
We, we are His resources.
He uses us to help each other along the way because we are so many and so different.
He understands how hard it is and how lonely it can get.
He really does know each of us. And our needs. And our desires.
God, our Heavenly Father, knows each of us perfectly.
Life’s simple like that.
There are lots of relationships between all of us.
There are a lot of people in the world.
