Cease to be idle; cease to be unclean; cease to find fault one with another; cease to sleep longer than is needful; retire to thy bed early, that ye may not be weary; arise early, that your bodies and your minds may be invigorated.
D&C 88:124
This scripture has been weighing on my mind lately, and reading this post put me over the edge. I have to do something about this!
I usually wake up at 5:45 AM on weekdays for work, but there are problems. For example, that all falls apart on the weekends. Too much fun... Also, I don't go to bed early enough, so I can't take advantage of my time on the train. I usually fall asleep after only a few minutes of reading or studying.
I like the recommendations in this video. I think I'm going to apply them. Sounds like a job for Lift.do! Lift is my go to app for developing new habits. I've used it with great success to cultivate habits like doing push ups, flossing, and keeping a food journal. Time to see how I can leverage it for early rising.
